Teach me

Teach me…

“Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!” Psalm 119:12 ‭(ESV‬‬)

I don’t know about you but I often find myself in a state of uncertainty. Life and world events leave me unsettled because quite frankly, I don’t have the answers. How could I? I’m not god. This is where I’m reminded that there is one who is certain and that of course is God.

This verse in Psalm’s as simple as it is, very profoundly states that we need to acknowledge God as our teacher and that we need to continually go to him in prayer and humbleness for Him to guide us. It’s so simple and also an intricate roadmap of how we need to live our daily lives. I have this desire deep down inside that wants to be in control all the time but of course that is impossible, it’s that desire to rely on myself that unsettles me. I’m going to meditate on this verse and use it as a prayer for myself and knowing from past experiences that if I choose to acknowledge God as the almighty He will teach me His ways.

Sometimes the simplest of things are the hardest to do but I pray that you also will make this verse your prayer and I know this will settle the restlessness in our souls.
