No Fear… 2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

This is one of my favourite Bible verses for the the practicality and simple but profound truth it offers. I repeat this verse to myself as soon as the slightest amount of anxiety or fear hits me and once I hear these words my mind starts to calm. I’m reminded that I’m powerful not because I rely on my own strength but rather that the one who is all powerful is with me every step of the way no matter what situation I find myself in. Is there really anything I can say that adds to the word “love”? Love truly conquers all. Fear, evil or darkness cannot share the same space as love. Isn’t it funny how fear always attacks our thinking first but once we get our mind in sync with God’s truth it’s game over. God’s power, love and clear thinking can overcome anything.
