This illustration wasn’t planned. It emerged out of frustration.
I was working on a different concept that simply wasn’t coming together. Instead of forcing it, I grabbed a handful of design markers and began scribbling instinctively, letting motion replace precision. Out of that chaos, the form of a racing cyclist began to appear.
What started as release turned into clarity. The bold strokes, overlapping lines, and exaggerated movement captured something I hadn’t been able to design deliberately: momentum.
Looking back, this piece reflects a pattern I’ve seen throughout my creative journey. When control loosens, energy shows up. When pressure breaks, movement begins.
Created during my college years, this illustration later received recognition in a student design competition. More than the award, it marked a moment where I learned to trust process over perfection.
