SCARRED
The Journey from Wounds to Wholeness
We all carry wounds. Some wounds are visible, many are hidden. Whether from broken relationships, deep disappointments, personal failure, or silent struggles, pain has left its mark. Thankfully, wounds don’t have to define us. In Christ, there is healing, it’s not a return to what was, but a transformation into something new and whole.
This study invites you to walk through Scripture and reflect on the origin of wounds, the healing Christ offers, and the hope that leads us into new life. Your scars are not signs of defeat, they are reminders of God’s healing power and grace.
WOUNDED
Exploring where wounds come from: family, society, trauma, disappointment and sin.
Genesis 3:6–7
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Proverbs 18:14
A man’s spirit will endure sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?
Psalm 55:12–14
For it is not an enemy who taunts me—then I could bear it;
it is not an adversary who deals insolently with me—then I could hide from him. But it is you, a man, my equal, my companion, my familiar friend. We used to take sweet counsel together; within God’s house we walked in the throng.
Job 5:6-7
For affliction does not come from the dust, nor does trouble sprout from the ground, but man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upward.
James 4:1
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?

Psalm 34:17-19
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

BEYOND WOUNDS
Living whole through God’s love and care
2 Corinthians 4:16–18
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

who has dealt wondrously with you.
And my people shall never again be put to shame.
